Monoblock Filter Cartridge IFP Ultra

The IFP Ultra is a combined activated carbon-membrane cartridge. It combines the special properties of a sintered activated carbon monoblock with the extremely fine particulate filtration of an ultrafiltration membrane. The outer activated carbon block with a fineness of 0.5 µm adsorbs dissolved contaminants in water and pre-filters particulates, while the ultrafiltration membranes at the center of the activated carbon retain particles up to 0.00002 mm, including viruses.

Applications

Water filtration in kitchens and bathrooms just before point of use (POU). Focus on bacterial or viral contamination in water.

Usage life

The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (per DIN 1988). Generally, up to 5,000 liters of water can be filtered within 6 months. Earlier replacement may be required if water flow is noticeably reduced. Early replacement is not a defect of the filter but an indication of increased fine particulates in unfiltered water. The capillary membrane Ster-O-Tap® has been tested according to ANSI/NSF Standard 53 (Cyst and Turbidity Reduction). Dimensions and gaskets of the IFP Ultra comply with market standards.

Installation notes

Use only with cold water; protect from freezing. Due to the extremely fine filtration of the IFP Ultra, pre-filtration with textile filters VFS09/001 (1 µm) is recommended in cases of rapid flow reduction. In SANUNO, remove the flat gasket from the bottom cover.

Cartridge with flat gasket, shrink-wrapped in foil, packaged in a printed single carton.

Contaminant retention

Contaminant removal with dissolved substances in water, odors and taste disturbances are permanently removed by the activated carbon. The ultrafiltration membrane ensures safe retention of bacteria and viruses. Minerals dissolved in water remain intact.

a) Particle retention threshold: 0.02 µm, per VITO test with viruses (MS-2 coliphage)
b) Adsorptive retention rate determined by internal testing compared to the main cartridge NFP Premium
For NFP Premium, a large number of independent opinions were generated. The production process and raw materials of the adsorption-relevant portion of the activated carbon in the IFP Ultra are identical to NFP Premium. The lower activated carbon mass of the IFP Ultra leads to lower adsorptive retention rates:
