Filters against dirt are an integral part of a WAC system. They remove particles and allergenic substances from outside air and prevent dust from contaminating the piping system in the exhaust air areas (bathroom, kitchen).
Of course the filters have to be changed from time to time. Depending on the number of residents and their use behavior, a change must be expected every 6 months (VDI 6022 - is required by law). This is not only important for hygienic reasons. A spent filter also lowers the performance of the entire system and increases power consumption.
