Rowa Twin Turbo Reverse Osmosis

Field of use

The ROWA® Twin Turbo Direct-Flow is a compact direct-flow reverse osmosis system with 30 l/h output, mounted openly on a plate. Ideally suited for household use, often installed under the sink or behind the skirting board of a kitchen unit.  The outlet is via a stainless steel drinking water tap, which must be ordered separately and allows for easy and needs-based permeate removal/ultrapure water. With its powerful (2 pieces) ROWA RO membranes 1812 - TLS 375 l/d (150 GPD), it delivers approx. 650 - 750 liters per day. 

Functionality

The ROWA® Twin Turbo Direct-Flow works on the principle of reverse osmosis. In reverse osmosis, the natural effort to balance is used. If water with different salt concentrations is separated by an H2O-permeable membrane, a natural balance takes place as water molecules penetrate the membrane and dilute the salt-rich solution (principle of osmosis). A pressure difference builds up, the so-called osmotic pressure. If a pressure far above the osmotic pressure is available, this process can be reversed (reverse osmosis).

In reverse osmosis, the water molecules penetrate the membrane from the salty side to the low-salt side. A concentrate is produced on the one hand and desalinated water (permeate) on the other. The greater the pressure, the more sustainable this process is. The usual line pressure of 3 - 6 bar is sufficient for this and is the only energy that is required. However, to ensure that the water on the concentrate side is not concentrated to such an extent that dissolved substances (e.g. calcium) precipitate and become blocked on the membrane, the concentration must be prevented. This is done by the flow limiter, which is optimally selected for the system.

Filtering and germ protection

1st stage
SF10/S pre-filter:

10" sediment filter with 5 µm pore size. This filter must be replaced every 6 months.

2nd stage
ROWA RO membrane 1812 - TLS 375 l/d (150 GPD):

Two ROWA reverse osmosis membranes have an hourly output of 15 liters at 15°C water temperature and 4 bar inlet pressure. The regular change interval of the pre-filter must be adhered to in order to increase the service life of the membrane. We monitor the quality of our membranes so that this product always meets our specifications.

The RO membrane has a service life of 3 to 6 years and depends on the water quality and compliance with the pre-filter change interval.> 90-99 percent elimination of undesirable traces in drinking water such as Heavy metals, Nitrate, Residues of pesticides, Bacteria, Fluorides, viruses, Drug residues... and much more.
